The Benefits Of Resveratrol Use

resveratrol
Guest Author: Tara Mathews

Most people have never heard of resveratrol let alone know what resveratrol use is all about. In the last few years it has become much more popular because of reports made by various new agencies. There are only a few plants that contain it. It is found in red grapes, red wine and Japanese knotweed root.

Although it is found in red wine, that may not be the best way to consume it. First, you would have to drink a fair bit of wine to get any of the resveratrol benefits. The best way to get the nutrients into your bloodstream is to take a supplement that contains resveratrol along with numerous other vitamins and minerals.

If you are taking a multi-vitamin supplement then you should make sure it has an enteric coating. Stomach acid can break down the nutrients and make them unavailable for use in the body. This is why the enteric coating is very important.

Another reason for the increase in resveratrol use is that it is rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants help to repair and prevent damage to the skin cells. Antioxidants help to repair damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are chemical molecules that move around the body causing damage to skin cells.

Resveratrol use works better when combined with other nutrients such as grape seed, amino acids, green tea extract, manganese and numerous other very effective minerals and vitamins. All the nutrients and vitamins work in synergy together, which is why it is so effective.

Resveratrol use is recommended for anyone who could be at risk of developing type II diabetes. In addition, people who have already been diagnosed can also benefit from this nutrient. Research is continuing in this field as well.

Try to avoid using synthetic versions of resveratrol or synthetic versions of any drug for that matter. While maintaining a healthy lifestyle, it is important to combine healthy eating, exercise and effective multi-vitamins. The supplement should contain numerous effective nutrients and vitamins that work in synergy together.

If you would like more information on resveratrol use and multi-vitamin supplements that contain this specific nutrient, then please visit my website today.

What to know before purchasing an anti aging HGH supplement: your body and you

Please consult with your physician about your body’s need for anti-aging HGH before opting for the heavily advertised secretagogue HGH supplements, or any secretagogue aimed at increasing HGH. It is very important that you know your body’s needs for enhanced stimulants for anti aging HGH since these do not work the same results for everyone, even in large doses of potent formulation such as HGH injections. Those with limitations of a damaged anterior pituitary or hypothalamus may not see results from using anti aging HGH since these areas are responsible for growth hormone production; even those diagnosed with any form of pituitary gland malfunction or disruption in the hypothalamus may not realize any benefit from HGH secretagogue use. Beyond these immediate concerns, if these problems are not detected in your doctor’s examination, it is still advisable to ride the safe bus to youthful looks by taking a medical opinion prior to testing out sleeping pituitary and boost production by purchasing sprays or pills for human growth hormone anti aging therapy.

Which is Better for Burning Fat, Weight Training Or Cardio?

weight training
Guest Author: Dan Swanson

I recently received a letter from one of my readers:

Dear Jon, You’ve written in Fit Over 40 (which I LOVE, btw), that you believe cardio is “overrated” and that training with weights is better for fat loss. This seems to run contrary to what Tom Venuto says in his book, Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle, and what a lot of other experts in the field say, but I cannot help but listen, especially given your results and the results of everyone else in this book. Thanks — Joseph Surelli; New York, NY P.S. I should mention that I’ve already “discarded” (I’m using your terms and they work) over 40 pounds of fat in six months, however I do more cardio than you do. Joseph

My man, you are rockin! Great results…and they are very similar to a lot of emails I receive on a daily basis. Okay, on to your question.

Yes, I did say that, or rather something ‘close’ to that. Here is my official, “take this to the courts” stance on how best to shed body fat for good, and this does not require you to be 21, belong to a fancy gym, or heaven forbid do hours of spin classes.

Your meals come before exercise, it’s “Mind, Meals, Muscle, then Motion…in that order.” So, unless you have your nutrition on the mark, forget shedding fat. It wont’ happen.

What meal plan? My advice is to start with a balanced meal plan, or “isocaloric”, in which you obtain roughly 1/3 of your calories from protein, 1/3 from carbs (low-glycemic and non- sugar-based carbs) and 1/3 from fats (both mono and saturated fats….yes, saturated.)

Divide your calories by 6 (a good start would be 12x your body weight for discarding fat) and prep each meal around this figure and these macro ratios.

Muscle is next…not cardio, but muscle. Why? Muscle burns calories 24/7. Nothing else can come close. Train with weights, or train with “any” form of progressive resistance (in-home training is fine. The bottom line is to train, and do so in a progressive fashion. Build muscle, even a few pounds, and it will help serve your metabolic needs in the long run…plus it will make your body curvy, sexy and “toned” (although I don’t care for that term.)

You mentioned Tom Venuto. Interestingly enough, he and I did a recorded interview just last night on this subject, and even he (the StairMaster Master) agrees that weights are superior to cardio in post-exercise metabolic response. In short, your metabolism will stay elevated longer after weight training than any other form of exercise.

Finally, there’s Motion…in this sense, I’m referring only to cardiovascular work. Yes, it is overrated, but certainly not useless. In fact, it’s critical at times. What I meant by that statement is that most people ONLY do cardio while trying to burn body fat, and that’s just a plan for disaster. Without meals and muscle, cardio is a wash for shedding fat, but can still be an excellent means of exercising the heart.

Weight training rules when it comes to overall health and fat shedding benefits if done correctly.

Weight Training for Women: How NOT To Overdo It

weight training
Guest Author: Cornell Dayne

It’s perfectly safe and effective for women to have a weight training routine. And I say that because there are a lot of misconceptions amongst women about weight training, for women. I will be the first to concede that weight training for women differs from weight training for men, and that’s why it’s important to learn how to do it the right way so that you can get the most out of your workout.

The key to weight training—that makes it different from cardio training—is resistance. As long as you’re providing resistance to your target area, you’re giving your muscles the burn that they deserve.

That doesn’t mean you have to go to the gym, only to leave an hour later looking like a balloon. (All pumped up)

While it’s recommended that you frequent a local gym or have a trainer teach you the basics, it’s not necessary. There are plenty of weight training guides for women out there, as well as entire sections in sporting goods stores, dedicated to weight training for women.

Keep in mind that today’s weight training is much different than what you’ve seen in the movies or on TV. Gone are the days of the sweaty gyms and bare bones workouts.

You won’t be crushing your spine on the floor doing crunches anymore. You can use an exercise ball to soften the hard surfaces, roll out cushioned mats on the floor, and even color-coordinate your dumbbells.

As long as you start slowly, build gradually, and give your body a chance to rest between workouts, you’ll be well on your way to achieving that fit, toned body that is the envy of every women—young and old. Starting slowly doesn’t necessarily mean that you only use the lightest weights possible.

So many women fear weight training, because they’re afraid that they’re gong to wind up looking like those boob-less, leathery, muscle bound ladies you see on ESPN. Understand this: those ladies are world-class athletes.

And just as it’s difficult for the average man to achieve that ever-elusive Mr. Universe physique, so to is it for the average woman to achieve the look of a professional female bodybuilder.

The professionals have done specific, intensive training, and used hardcore supplements to develop their bodies. It takes a lot of work to change your body like that; so don’t worry because you won’t be using their routine.

Using heavy weights is going to get your body toned and in shape faster than lightweights. That’s the only difference. So, if you want to prolong your weight training and you’ve got the patience of Job, then use lightweights.

If you want to succeed and achieve the desired result quicker, then use heavier weights. (Just don’t take a bunch of supplements and lift for 10 hours a day).

A good way to determine what weight is right for you is to try out different ones. Ideally, you want to start with a weight that you can lift between eight and 10 times. When you can lift that weight with no problem at all, it’s time to move up to a higher weight.

However, you can’t go from female couch potato to Buffy the hot body fitness model overnight. You also have to lose the fat you’re carrying around, so your muscles have a chance to show off all their hard work.

Work hard and the results will speak volumes on your behalf.

Resveratrol From Grape Supplement- Is This The Best Solution For Increased Health?

resveratrol
Guest Author: Ric Hawkins

Let\’s be honest, most of us have heard that resveratrol from grape supplement is the best way forward, as grapes have one of the highest concentrations of it. But there are better, superior options to be had.

First off, the best way to get the most potent extract is not to get resveratrol from grape supplement, but from Japanese Knotweed extract. This plant has the highest concentration of resveratrol on the planet.

You should also check that the product only uses natural synergetic ingredients, with at least 20mg of natural 50% trans-resveratrol, which is the most active type.

These days experts agree that taking resveratrol in extract form alone is not as beneficial as taking it with other synergetic nutrients.

To illustrate, resveratrol combines well with ginkgo biloba and green tea extract, and this enhances its ability to reverse the signs of aging, for example.

This combination can also be very beneficial in the prevention of many forms of cancer, diabetes and even Alzheimer\’s.

You don\’t want to receive the benefits of it on its own, but rather in a product that has many nutrients in it that work synergistically with one another.

Another important consideration if you are going down the supplement route is to see if it has what is known as a natural enteric coating. Only a few of the high quality ones will use this, as it stops the destructive actions of stomach acid by allowing it to pass through to the upper intestine where it will have the greatest benefits.

So, as you can see, there is more to resveratrol from grape supplement than meets the eye!

The beauty of using a quality multi supplement is that you are not wasting hundreds of dollars a year or more on many different pills and remedies, and you are getting the powerful benefits that many natural synergistic ingredients will have on your health.

If you are serious about looking after your health for the long- term, and want to potentially avoid many of the diseases that come with the aging process, forget about getting resveratrol from grape supplement and focus instead on a high quality natural alternative.

If you would like to learn more about the synergistic products which I personally take, including resveratrol, why not visit my website.

Resveratrol And Diabetes—Is A Breakthrough Imminent?

resveratrol
Guest Author: Ric Hawkins

According to recent studies of resveratrol and diabetes, there seems to be growing excitement about a potential breakthrough, so what is this all about?

We have known for a long time the powers of this super nutrient in stopping cancer and increasing life expectancy, but according to the latest research, an imminent breakthrough is predicted for type 2 diabetes.

It seems that a resveratrol and diabetes connection for helping to cure this disease works in two ways. Firstly, it helps to lower the glucose levels significantly and helps to improve insulin sensitivity.

Secondly, it has been found to increase metabolism, (you may have heard about the weight loss possibilities with this nutrient) which decrease weight gain, a major contributor to type 2 diabetes.

A study by Sirtris Pharmaceuticals is significant because it shows that resveratrol might well be used to treat type 2 diabetes in the near future and that it seems to be well tolerated by patients.

There seems to be no end to what this super nutrient can do, and one of the best methods to avoid diseases is to take preventative action.

Even though a resveratrol and diabetes connection has been made, you can get the many benefits of it here and now. Experts agree that the most effective method is via a natural multi supplement.

When these ingredients are put together they create synergy, which means you get the direct benefits of each nutrient and the benefits from their interaction with each other.

Resveratrol is synergistic with green tea and ginkgo biloba extract, and this will enhance its ability to fight of the aging process and many diseases.

Why wait until the research on resveratrol and diabetes proves what we already suspect, and what the Japanese have known for years (they get theirs from the Japanese Knotweed plant, one of the most potent sources on earth and the source for good quality supplements), that especially when combined, we can have amazing health benefits right now.

We truly live in exciting times with more natural discoveries being made all the time, although the Chinese for example, have long known about the amazing powers of nutrients and herbs.

The whole emphasis is shifting from cure to prevention and the same goes for resveratrol and diabetes, where we can take back the power ourselves, and hopefully live a longer and healthier life.

If you would like to learn more about the synergistic supplements which I personally take, including resveratrol, why not visit my website.

Teaching Hatha Yoga: Designing a Lesson Plan – Part 1

yoga
Guest Author: anonymous

Which asanas, or Yoga postures, should you select? How long should you hold each Yoga posture? What is the benefit of holding a Yoga posture for minutes at a time?

Should you start or finish a Yoga class with meditation? How should you incorporate Pranayama within your Yoga class? These are some of the many questions that Yoga teachers must address and find solutions for.

Which asanas or Yoga postures should you select? Some Yoga posture sequencing is considered so important that a few Yoga teachers and Yoga Masters have gone through the trouble of patenting and copywriting them.

This is still a hot topic in some Yoga circles, but sequencing should ideally contain a mixture of standing, seated, table, kneeling, balancing, prone, and supine Yoga postures.

This may not always be possible, if you are teaching a specialized class, such as Chair Yoga or Prenatal Yoga, but a wide variety of Yoga postures will have a multitude of health benefits for mind, body, and spirit.

On the surface, we know that Yoga helps us live a better quality life – with improvements in pain relief, the immune system, circulation, removal of toxins, and a change to moderate dieting habits.

Therefore, any Yoga is better than no Yoga at all. This is why it is good to tell your students to add a small daily Yoga routine to their lives.

If they can practice Yoga longer, that’s fine; but new Yoga students may have trouble fitting Yoga into their lives for 15 minutes a day. This shows you how busy they are all day.

How long should a student hold each Yoga posture? If you are teaching a Restorative, or Iyengar style, Yoga class, the postures will be held for a while. The purpose is for the above-mentioned health benefits for developing strength.

Most people think of Yoga as a “stretch class,” but holding postures for more than 20 seconds starts to test the strength of your muscles. As the time gets longer, your muscles let you know they are being worked; and this is much less friction than joints are exposed to by many other exercise methods.

A Vinyasa style Yoga class will not hold postures for long, but Vinyasa classes are aerobic, while enhancing muscle tone and flexibility. Some Vinyasa Yoga enthusiasts insist Vinyasa is the ultimate cross training method.

To be honest, most of the Vinyasa students I teach are, on average, a generation younger than my Restorative Yoga students, and my Chair Yoga students are a generation older than my Restorative Yoga students. Therefore, the type of Yoga sequencing should address the health conditions of your students.

Health, Fitness, Weight Training, Smoking and Drinking

weight training
Guest Author: Darren O’Connell

Weight training makes a person healthy, fit and strong. It is not just for people who want to build muscle, but for everyone who likes to stay fit and keep the excess weight off.

If you want to get in shape or stay in shape you can walk, run or cycle every morning, play sports with friends, but if you want to have muscles and look lean, then lifting some weights either at the gym or at home is your best bet.

People go to the gym for many reasons. eg:

To lose a few pounds if they are overweight.

To gain a few pounds (of muscle) if they are underweight.

To get fit and Healthy.

To get strong.

The most effective exercise plan for most should have some cardiovascular work and mostly weight training exercises. This helps burn calories and increase the muscle to fat ratio better than cardiovascular work alone.

Some Benefits of Weight training:

1. It is the best way to maintain and improve ones health from a variety of diseases and premature death.

2. It makes a person feel better and increases ones self confidence, prevents depression, anxiety

and gloom.

3. A weight training lifestyle helps a person live longer than an inactive person.

4. It instils discipline into a person, making other things in life easy.

5. It makes one stronger physically and mentally.

To start: one should consult a physician to get the go ahead and then get into it gradually.

Getting stronger, fitter, healthier week by week building up more endurance will be of great benefit to you.

Aim for 3 or 4 days a week working out, this is sufficient no matter what your goals are.

Maintain a reasonable diet.

You could consult with a professional to get an excellent eating plan to match your goals and gym

activities. They will evaluate you based on your needs, and recommend a diet plan.

A good diet should have nutrients from all the food groups.

This is made up by 3 basic groups.

The first is carbohydrates. The energy source. The food that a person consumes should have vitamins, minerals and some fiber. A lot of this comes from oats, rice, potatoes, cereals and breads, and also from vegetables and fruits since these have phytochemicals, enzymes and micronutrients that are essential for a healthy diet.

The Second is Protein. The building blocks of muscle and essential organs. This comes from fish, chicken, red meat and dairy. Protein is broken down in the body to form amino acids for repair and

growth of new cells.

The third is fat. The body’s enemy, according to most. There are 4 types of fat: Saturated (the bad) from animals, the more animal fat you consume the higher your blood cholesterol will rise, increasing the risk of a malfuntion in the body.Should be taken in small quantities.Sources are: Beef, dairy, coconut oil.

Polyunsaturated (the good) Comes from plants, reduces blood cholesterol. Sources are: nuts, fish, safflower oil, seeds, corn oil and sunflower oil.

Monounsaturated (the best) also comes from plants, raises the good cholesterol.Sources are: Avocado,

olive oil, olives, nuts, canola oil and peanut butter.

Trans fats (the ugly) This is relatively new, the effects are unknown, it is believed that they behave like saturated fat (the bad) causing blood cholesterol levels to rise.

The consumption of fats (the good fats) is important for our health. They are used in the production of hormones and other activities. We do need some fat, but do limit the bad.

A great way to help your efforts in the gym is to give up some detrimental habits such as smoking and drinking alcohol. Smoking damages the lungs and dramatically increases the risk of lung cancer along with other diseases. Excessive drinking has also been shown to causes major diseases.

These two habits are definitely not worth having around.

The best thing one can do for themselves is to quit any destructive habits they have and get into that gym, start pumping some iron and look forward to greater Health and Fitness.

Use and Purpose of Wrinkle Creams

wrinkle cream
Guest Author: Melinda Dayton

Anti wrinkle creams are effective skin care treatments for the face as it is been used to decrease fine lines and moderate wrinkles. All these anti-wrinkle creams take action on your skin surface that will make your skin soft and young looking. For most part, the wrinkle creams are intended to take away the surface skin and then let fresh skin cells. Anti-wrinkle changes cannot be as striking as when matched up to more severe treatments such as chemical peels and dermabrasion however.

The results with these creams are not assured. What works well for one particular individual might not work with another. A few anti wrinkle skin cream products do not work a all. Part of this quandary is that lots of ingredients that are used in wrinkle cream products are not been subjected to thorough research to confirm benefit they claim to give. This is of course, very frustrating for the individuals.

Anti-Wrinkle Creams

Anti-wrinkle creams are special types of creams and moisturizers that are used to hide wrinkles on your face, and make your skin smooth and supple with the intention that wrinkles do not form. The wrinkles are result of the dry skin. They are also caused by contact to sun and wind, thus when skin is correctly moisturized, it is possible that the wrinkles will not form again. Wrinkle creams also come in a range of strengths, and perform many duties; thus knowing which kind of cream you require is useful when you are shopping for the wrinkle creams.

First compare the wrinkle creams quite a few times prior to making final choice, and make your selection based on the skin type and amount of moisture that you require on your skin daily. You must also base your choice on the improvement that you want to be done on your face. If you are buying wrinkle creams to stop the signs of aging in the future, you need to select a different and more gentle wrinkle cream. Naturally the younger you are, the better your long term results will be.

Price Comparisons

Let us look at the difference between expensive wrinkle creams and cheap wrinkle creams. Besides price, there may not be any difference as most of anti wrinkle creams are contract manufactured by similar companies in certified laboratories. Look at the claims that are made by the companies such as Stripeptin or Strivectin. They all will quote same exact research. I have also taken tours of manufacturing services and have seen lots of competing products in the market that are lined up next to one another.

If you pay more than $250 for wrinkle serum or lotion, then time has come to stop it. If you are been forced to use certain companies – then it is the time to look somewhere else! Just because anti wrinkle cream is pricey does not mean that it will work. There are lots of anti wrinkle creams obtainable that have the similar ingredients, similar quality ingredients, which are manufactured by the same company.

Bodybuilding Weight Training – Training To Gain

weight training
Guest Author: John Howard

Body building is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most common interests among men these days. Body building is not just about building your body so that it looks good with well toned muscles, but also keeping you very healthy through the kind of work-outs that you do day in and day out. Weight training plays the most important role in body building.

Weight training is something which is very essential to build your muscles and make you look good. When you train with weights, it will be a unique experience for the first time as your body will be forced to cope with the pressure that you put on it. Also, for the first few weeks, bodybuilding weight training can take a heavy toll on you, as it takes that much of time at least for a healthy human body to cope with heavy training.

One of the most important things you need to know about weight training is that you cannot start off right away with heavy weights and strenuous work out schedules. Everything needs to have a proper schedule and especially in this case, you need to follow a certain pattern in order to achieve the best results in the shortest possible period of time.

First of all, you need to get in touch with an experienced bodybuilding trainer. A trainer is a professional who will be able to guide you in terms of training, nutrition, work out schedule, and many other things related to body building. Once you’ve got yourself a trainer, make sure you listen to him properly and do whatever he asks you to do so.

Bodybuilding weight training should be done with the right mindset and for this purpose a trainer’s assistance becomes very much important. Also, you need to give enough rest to your muscles and nourish them with the proper kind of diet, as those two things are very important as far as building your muscles are concerned. Body building weight training makes your muscles bigger, stronger, and agile. For this reason, a lot of people are interested in weight training and even though not all of them may end up body building professionals, they love the aspect of weight training and the kind of impact it has on their lives and this is the reason why you see a lot of people are into weight training these days.
