The Best Food Sources For Resveratrol And How To Get The Right Balance

resveratrol
Guest Author: Ric Hawkins

Are you frustrated with the conflicting reports on the best food sources for resveratrol?  And is food the best source? This wonder nutrient is important to include in our diet, so here are some of the best sources.

Primarily the highest concentration in food is to be found in the skin, seeds and pomace of grapes, hence the fact that red wine contains some too, as it is fermented longer with the grape skins.

However, red wine is not recommended as one of the best food sources for resveratrol due to the fact you would need to drink well over a liter a day to start to gain any benefit, and the detrimental effects of the alcohol would wipe out any gains.

Other sources are blueberries and peanuts, although in smaller quantities.

Here are the approximate amounts you will get:

1 cup red grapes – 1.25mg

1 cup peanut butter – 0.15mg

1 cup peanuts – 0.25mg

1 cup boiled peanuts -1.30mg

As you can see, even the best food sources for resveratrol are not enough to gain the maximum benefits, so to take it in supplement form is now the most popular way.

High quality ones come from the Japanese Knotweed plant, the most potent source on earth, and one the Japanese have long used for curing and healing many illnesses.

You should make sure that any resveratrol supplements you take only contain natural ingredients, with at least 20mg of the natural 50% trans type, which is the most active one.

I am sure you are aware of the many benefits of this wonder nutrient including helping to fight cancer, diabetes, heart disease and even increasing our lifespan. It is being hailed as the most effective compound to have ever been found to reverse the aging process.

So it is important to get our intake levels up and when combined in a natural multi supplement its effects are greatly enhanced, unlike the best food sources for resveratrol.

You will notice improved clarity of mind, and feel that you have more energy than before, as well as helping to potentially stave off future degenerative diseases when combined with other natural synergetic ingredients like ginkgo biloba and green tea extract.

I am sure many more wonderful discoveries lie ahead, but the fact that we already know the power of this nutrient, means we can start to harness that power now, even though the best food sources for resveratrol don’t provide enough, a daily supplement can provide all we need.

If you would like to learn more about the synergistic supplements which I personally take, including resveratrol, why not visit my website.

What are the Many Benefits of Resveratrol?

resveratrol
Guest Author: Gordon Hall

There may be many benefits of resveratrol, but one that you might find very interesting is that it acts as a “calorie restriction mimetic”.  If you’re not sure what that means, you can learn about it in this article.

For many years, researchers have known that restricting caloric intake in laboratory animals increased their lifespan.  Whether the same effect would be seen in humans has been an area of interest for quite some time and, if so, what the beneficial effects were due to.  Recently, a small study was conducted using human volunteers.  They followed a diet that provided 10-25% fewer calories than the average Western diet for a period of 3-15 years.

There is no way to determine if the diet increased the participants’ lifespan, but the health benefits were obvious.  They included reduced BMI, very low LDL cholesterol levels, high HDL (good) cholesterol levels, very low triglyceride levels, low blood pressure, very healthy blood glucose levels and low levels of C – reactive protein, a predictor of heart disease.

The benefits of resveratrol and other calorie restriction mimetics could be all of these. They might also allow you to live a longer, healthier life.

There are negative effects of an extremely low calorie diet including nutritional deficiencies, muscle wasting, weakness, dizziness, lethargy, fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, gall stones, irritability and depression.  All of these drawbacks were noted by participants in the study mentioned above.

But, we believe that it may be possible to get the positive effects, without the negative ones, by taking nutrients and other supplements that have the same effects as a calorie restricted diet.  We call those things mimetics, because they “mimic” the positive effects seen in caloric restriction.

The benefits of resveratrol that have been seen in animal studies include healthier glucose, triglyceride, blood pressure and cholesterol levels.  This is why some researchers believe that resveratrol explains the lower incidence of heart disease that is seen in regular red wine drinkers.  High glucose, triglyceride, cholesterol and blood pressure levels are hard on the heart.

Nutritional deficiencies will not extend your lifespan and will cause many health problems.  Even deficiencies in the common vitamin D3 have been linked to heart disease, cancer and osteoporosis.  Nutritional deficiencies are on the rise in the US, despite the increasing number of overweight people.

You can get the benefits of resveratrol and reduce your risk of nutritional deficiencies by taking a totally balance multi-nutritional supplement on a daily basis.  The best ones contain appropriate amounts of resveratrol along with over 70 other important nutrients and extracts, many of which are calorie restriction mimetics.

The supplements were specifically developed in an effort to help people like you and I live longer, healthier lives.  The ingredients are all natural, which is unusual, because most supplement companies use synthetic vitamins.  They’re cheaper, but not as effective.  We can only hope that the long term benefits of resveratrol will be realized in our lives, but there are some benefits that we have seen immediately. If you have a minute to spare, please take a look at my website now.

Medical Anti Aging – Anti Aging Medicine

anti-wrinkle
Guest Author: Alien

Anti-aging can be a difficult topic to address. A war is currently being fought over the meaning of “anti-aging” (as research, medicine, brand, or simply adjective) and thus even mentioning the term is likely to prejudice many readers. We will try to put this all into context while being as neutral as possible.A broad definition of ‘anti-aging’ is any intervention intended to preserve and extend one’s lifespan. All time honored health promoting behaviors such as good hygiene and various safety measures are ‘anti-aging’

Anti Aging

Aging is defined as the collection of degenerative diseases that is large influenced by lifestyle. In order to give full meaning to the right to “life” we need a “war on aging”. We are therefore at an unprecedented turning point in the study of aging, in which the curiosity-driven, exploratory research that has justifiably monopolized the field until now can at last be legitimately accompanied by goal-directed, biotechnological efforts, rationally designed on the basis of solid scientific knowledge. Anti-aging medicine has emerged in recent times promising increased longevity with improved quality of life. Anti-aging physicians believe that most illnesses associated with aging can be prevented, or at least slowed, through optimal cellular health.

Medicine for Anti Aging

Anti-Aging Medicine is the new medical discipline which aspires to halt the degeneration and disability normally associated with aging. That style of anti-aging medicine can, indeed, work miracles. Alternative medicine and holistic approaches have often been an incubator for approaches initially shunned by traditional medicine. Though the effort has seemed futile in the past, findings from the cutting edge of medicine indicate we can, at the dawn of the 21st century, do much to optimize how we age. You might not know that there are natural medicines that can treat your thyroid disease just as effectively as pharmaceutical drugs without the side effects.

Health and Vitality

If mankind doesn’t destroy itself first, it is just a matter of time until we extend healthy human lifespan to lengths that are almost unimaginable today. Once healthy life-extension is demonstrated in mice, the attitude that “aging is inevitable” will no longer be possible and will give way to an all-out “war on aging”. Living a healthy lifestyle is the best insurance you can have, not only to avoid nursing home care, but also illness and frailty, however long you live. Restoring hormones in the body to more youthful levels can elicit improved health and vitality. Learn about natural ways to stay young and healthy and combat premature aging.

We’re discovering that some foods have potent healthful properties that we never imagined were there. A healthy human individual is automatically on an anti-aging program, which is why they live longer. Perhaps in another 100 years, compounds will be identified, studied and proven to be extremely helpful to human health, but in the meantime, they remain mystery compounds that are outside the understanding of modern medical researchers.

When it comes to medical anti aging products and services however, we still have to be careful. While scientific knowledge has expanded exponentially, there are still lots of vendors making claims that are not backed up by the evidence. These entrepreneurs are poised to make a profit from a vulnerable public – while some simply relieve you of your money without providing any benefit, others may actually be harmful. Before you pay for any new or unconventional medical anti aging treatment, discuss your plans with a medical professional whom you trust, or contact one of the consumer advocate/anti-fraud organizations that can help you verify that you are getting what you pay for.

Whatever you choose, keep your eye on the latest in medical breakthroughs – there are lots of products and services already available that really do help you look and feel younger, and maintain better health. It’s a safe bet there will be many more to choose from in the near future, as anti aging medicine gets more and more advanced.

Revolutionary Anti-aging Medicine Slows Aging

anti-wrinkle
Guest Author: James Schramko

As little as a decade ago, anti-aging medicine was considered to be purely science fiction by some. Now, ten years later, a great many of the insights that have been put forth by anti-aging clinicians and pioneering researchers have become science facts.

Scientists know much more today about the deterioration that we all undergo and the vulnerability to disease that is characteristic of the aging process. Many of these newly found discoveries can be traced to the beginning of anti-aging medicine which heralded in a new era for not only an innovative health care model but an exciting scientific field of study as well.

Anti-aging medicine has grown to be a medical specialty that has been founded on the application of advanced medical and scientific technologies for the early prevention, detection, treatment and reversal of all age-related diseases. Anti-aging medicine has become a health care model which promotes innovative research and science to prolong a healthy lifespan in human beings. Anti-aging medicine is based on solid principles of responsible and sound medical care which are consistent with those that are applied in other preventive health care specialties. Anti-aging medicine is:

Scientific

The practices of anti-aging diagnoses and treatment are supported by scientific evidence. They cannot be branded as merely anecdotal.

Evidence-based

This branch of medicine is based on a direct and orderly process by which data can be acquired in order to formulate an objective yet scientific assessment so that an effective treatment plan can be assigned.

Holistic

This branch of medicine makes use of an organized framework for a diagnostic assessment based on the whole person and the subsequent plan for a treatment regimen.

Synergistic

This branch of medicine recognizes that often a multi-faceted approach may produce greater rejuvenating effects than just by administering a single therapy.

Anti-aging medicine has been well-documented by such peer-reviewed journals as Aging, Lancet, Journal of the AMA, American Journal of Cardiology and many more. Anti-aging medicine has its main focus on the application of highly technical diagnostic and treatment biomedical technologies so that it may come up with the earliest detection and the most aggressive care of disease. Anti-aging medicine’s goal is not just to prolong an individual’s life as far as years are concerned, but it wants to ensure that the individual will enjoy those years in a vital and productive fashion.

Anti-aging medicine has hastened the pace of advancement in preventive health measures as well as in health promotion. By putting into practice a proactive health program that embraces all elements of anti-aging preventive health care for yourself, the ability is increased for you to live a robust and long life in which you will spend abundant and quality time with your family and with its future generations.

Human performance scientists all across the United States agree in one accord that the best thing you can do to slow down the aging process is to stay physically active. Exercise experts now see “aging” as being inactive. Now, thanks to rehab advancements and high-tech sports medicine, men and women who are up in years (90’s and 100’s) are regaining mobility and strength from muscle training.

There is one lesson to be learned from this: It is never too late to begin an exercise program. However, it is best to get a jump start on exercising while you are still agile enough to do it.
